BioLogic™ Velvet Saddle and I-Beam™ Technology

The traditional saddle rail design has been with us for decades, and while it works well enough, it has distinct limitations when it comes to strength, weight, and ease of adjustment. SDG, a leader in the performance saddle market, discovered a way to replace traditional saddle rails with a single carbon-composite beam. They originally developed the I-Beam™ system to meet the needs of hard-core free riders who were always breaking their railed saddles but SDG discovered a few unexpected benefits: a dramatic reduction in weight, 200% more fore-aft adjustment to fit a wider range of riders, and super simple one bolt adjustment. Who would have expected that an I-Beam comfort saddle would weigh less than a super skinny racing saddle with Ti rails? We collaborated with SDG to develop a series of custom saddles and seat posts exclusively for Dahon. The result? The BelAir FX and BioLogic™ Velvet saddles and Super-Oversize SDG I-Beam Pro and Comp seat posts.
